  • 支票抬頭請填寫『ECS』繳給課外活動課負責人。請為每個報名成員和課程分開開立支票。
  • 第一次上課才繳費者,學校將額外收費十五元遲交費。(延至十月二十三日)

  • All ECS parents and students are cordially invited to the Fall end-of-term exhibit and performance this Sunday, 1/22 at 4:00pm in Chantilly High School Cafeteria. There will be performances from the Yo-yo students on one stage and KungFu/GuZheng on another. Artwork from the Chinese Painting, Origami and Floral Arrangement Classes will be displayed near the southern entrance. The Chinese Calligraphy school team will demonstrate their penmanship and give away their authentic work (i.e. “春”、”福”), just in time for the Chinese New Year and a year of good luck.(Exhibit and Performance Map)

Notes
  • Please make check payable to "ECS" and submit it to Extra-curricular Class Coordinator. Please issue separate checks for each participant and class.
  • An additional $15 late fee required for payment received after the first class has started. (Waived until 10/23/2016)
  • For current ECS families, please register ECS Online to avoid a $25 per family registration fee.
  • A registration fee of $25 per family is required to register non-current-ECS families.
  • Families have no current or past tie to ECS pay 150% of Class fee in addition to a $25 per family registration fee.
  • The class may be cancelled due to lack of facility or participants after the registration deadline. The fee will be refunded or you may choose to register in another class. NVAECS has right to adjust the event due to school operational need, a change notice will be sent out to confirm. In the case ECS needs to adjust the class, ECS will do its best effort to notify the class as early as possible via the contact information provided in the application form. Please also refer to school Finance rules and regulation if you have any need.
  • Regardless of whether a student has reached the recommended age, if s/he does not have the necessary attention span or skills to participate in a class/club or is a significant distraction to others, parental involvement is required under instructor’s direction.

Huey Tsao is passionate about creative things and sharing the gift of creativity with others. Huey coordinated crafts with Mothers of Preschoolers in Chantilly, homeschooled her children, and taught arts and craft classes at Lifetime Athletic Club in Reston. Huey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from James Madison University and has worked in the graphics design industry as a designer, chairman and co-chairman of the Annual Shows for Art Directors Club of Metro Washington (ADCMW) before starting her family. Marcia Mau has been folding since the fourth grade at the American Dependents School in Tehran, Iran.  She decorated her first origami tree in Jakarta in 1959.  She is a member of OrigamiUSA and the British Origami Society.  She has taught at origami conventions in the USA, Germany, and France.  In the Washington area she has taught at The Japan Bowl, Sakura Matsuri, and the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery, Museum of American Art, National Postal Museum, and Natural History Museum.  She has taught seniors in Hawaii and the Washington area and at schools in Northern Virginia and Novosibirsk.

黄瑞蓮老師從 1983 年起,分別在華府中國文化中心,維華、希望和實驗中文學校開班授課。移居華府之前,曾任教於肯薩司大學美術系授教國畫多年,並取得美國的藝術學位。前後已有四十年教授國畫的豐富經驗。
Mrs. Monica Shia has been a Chinese Painting instructor since 1983 at various locations, including Washington DC Chinese Culture Center, Wei Hua, Hope Chinese Schools and ECS. Before moving to Washington DC area, she taught at the Art Department at Kansas University and received her degree in Arts. Overall, she has taught Chinese Painting for more than 40 years.

黎秀桂老師自幼學習書法,高中時為書法校隊代表。赴美後從事藝術空間設計工作並在實驗中文學校擔任文化課的書法老師多年,目前是本校扯鈴團隊負責人及書法校隊指導老師,本校書法校隊在黎老師的指導下年年獲獎。本於對藝術及文創志業慹忱,黎老師希望藉由東方書法推廣中文文字之美,經由親子學習培育藝文興趣並永續傳承。
Ms. Li has been studying Chinese Calligraphy since her youth and was on her high school Calligraphy team. Since moving to the US, she works in the Art Design industry and has been the Calligraphy instructor for ECS's culture class for many years. Currently, she is the instructor of the ECS Calligraphy school team, as well as the Chinese yoyo coordinator. Under Ms. Li's tutelage, the ECS Calligraphy school team has earned the top awards consistently every year. Ms. Li hopes to promote the beauty of Chinese Language Art through Chinese Calligraphy and the interest through parent-and-child learning together, hence, to ensure its continuity.

After earning a bachelor degree in education from the Sports Institute, where he returned as a Wushu instructor, he won his first National Championship title in 1996 in the all-around category as well as ChangQuan, Sword (Jian), Double Hooks (Shuang Gou), DuiLian (fight pattern) followed by many more national titiles. In 2001, he won the 6th World Wushu Championship in ChangQuan – his crowning achievement of his competitive career. He had lead and coached the Beijing Wushu Team, the Hong Kong Wushu Team in 1999-2000, the Russian National Wushu Team in 2002, and the U.S.A. National Wushu Team in past several years. He is a national and international certified judge and has served actively as a judge at numerous national and international wushu competitions. He has trained many students into U.S.A. Wushu Team. In 2013 and 2014, he organized and hosted the U.S.A team selection and national competitions on behalf of U.S.A Wushu-Kungfu Federation.

Debora Castro is originally from Lima, Peru. Fitness and Dancing have always been part of her life - since she was little, she used to teach Aerobics and dance lessons back home. In 2008, she decided to give Zumba a try and got certified. When she teaches classes, she does give her little spin on it. Its just one hour! So lets go hard or go home! It is a Fitness/ Dance class with rhythms from all over the world.

Yoga

  • Instructor: Sendy Delgado and Kimberley Johnson

Sendy and Kim will teach yoga classes as a team, with one cueing the student while the other actually doing the class in the front of the room so everyone can feel comfortable in knowing what the pose looks like. Together, they want to conduct Yoga classes in all of the aspects that they can. “We love what we do.”

Sendy is a LifePower Yoga Teacher with a RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) accreditation with the Yoga Alliance Association. Recently certified to teach, Sendy is passionate and inspired by the energy and love we all have inside. She is also enrolled in the Prenatal Yoga certification program and will be completing her Children's Yoga certification in July.

"Yoga to me, means to love oneself and everything around us. To learn to love oneself in every aspect of life, our mind, our bodies, our soul and our world. Practicing yoga daily has opened more space for love, kindness, compassion for myself and those around me. Yoga practice allows the mind to be aware and present in the moment and in the now. I am so grateful to be able to bring and inspire love for oneself with yoga teaching."

Kim is a LifePower Yoga Teacher with a RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) accreditation with the Yoga Alliance Association. She is recently certified to teach Yoga and is currently studying to work with the "active adult" with Yoga, which is a passion of hers. Her goal is to keep the "active adult" in the best shape mentally and physically as they can be. She is currently enrolled in a Prenatal Yoga certification program to aid in the physical and mental process of child birth. She is super excited to be in this program as well as the Children's Yoga program which she is attending in July of this year. She loves teaching fitness and Yoga and is a certified fitness instructor at Lifetime Athletic and teaches at the Reston, Centerville and Loudoun clubs.

黄瑞蓮老師是華道家元池坊流,生花、投入、盛花教授。在美留學時期,曾在大花店做花型設計師多年,是位傑出的花型設計師。曾在維華中文學校,開班教課多年,中西二型插花經驗豐富。
Mrs. Monica Shia was trained in the Ikenobo school of Japanese floral arts. She is a teacher in the styles of Ikebana, Nageire and Moribana. During her study in the U.S., she worked in a large floral store as a floral designer for many years and is an excellent floral designer. She taught floral arrangements at Wei Hua Chinese School for several years and is experienced in both Oriental and Western floral arrangements.
