Listening:
Can understand and follow the teacher’s instructions
Can understand questions from the teacher and others, as well as classmates’ responses
Speaking:
Can answer the teacher’s questions using complete sentences
Can engage in everyday conversations with others
Can describe a simple object or scene in a coherent and meaningful paragraph after viewing a picture or making an observation
Reading:
Can accurately recognize and read Hanyu Pinyin, including compound finals and tones (four tones and the neutral tone)
Can read aloud lesson texts and understand their meaning
Writing:
Can write Pinyin when given Chinese characters, and write Chinese characters when given Pinyin
Can form words and sentences using learned characters (using Pinyin for unfamiliar characters)
Can use Chinese input methods for typing
