NVAECS launched official school website: http://member.xoom.com/ecsweb/ and began to send out announcements with the email address: exp-cs@egroups.com to better communication among teachers, students and parents.
NVAECS began culture class program, which includes Chinese painting, calligraphy, and Chinese traditional crafting.
2001
NVAECS established Teaching Assistant (TA) system as a community service for high school students.

NVAECS began to publish Year Book in CD-format.
The number of students at NVAECS reached 200.
1991
Northern Virginia Experimental Chinese School (NVAECS) was founded by a group of parents and was registered to the Virginia state as a non-profit organization. The classes were held in South Lake High School with nearly 100 students.
2006
NVAECS classrooms were moved to Chantilly High School.
2008
The number of students at NVAECS reached 300.
2009
NVAECS launced “Service Point System” to track and encourage parents to be involved with school events and activities.
ZuYin classes switched to Mei Zhou Chinese teaching materials; while PinYin classes began to adopt Better Chinese Online curriculum.
2011
NVAECS 20th Anniversary.
2012
NVAECS launched “ECS Online“, which includes online registration, student and enrollment management, service point management, etc.
NVAECS began offer “ECS Honorable Student Award” to graduates and gave the awards in closing ceremony.
2013
NVAECS launched revamped Culture Class program, which extends from 3 to 19 categories.
2015
The “NVAECS Academic Contest Team” was established to promote Chinese culture and students participation to local Chinese community events.
2019
Whole-year Adult Chinese class officially began.
2020
From March 2020, NVAECS followed the CDC’s and FCPS’s procedures for school closure due to COVID-19 epidemic, and changed to virtual learning for everyone.
2021
From September fall session, followed CDC Health and Safety Guidance to resume in person learning.
Joined TCML (Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning).
Hosted WMACS (Washington Metropolitan Association of Chinese Schools) Yo-yo completion.
2022
September fall session, the NVAECS was normal operations and resumed regular activities.
